IN its second general membership meeting, Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industries Philippines Inc. (MCCI) President and Cofounder Edward Ling expressed his optimism in the economic growth of the Philippines.
Ling quoted a recent report of HSBC, which stated the country will continue to be the fastest-growing economy in Asia, and is projected to become the 16th largest economy in the world by 2050.
Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s officials, such as Chief Minister Al-Hajj Murad Ebrahim, Finance Minister Eduardo Guerra and Local Government Minister Naguib Sinarimbo attended the event.
Special Envoy of the President to Malaysia Atty. Wencelito Andanar, Malaysian Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Rizany Irwan bin Muhamad Mazlan and Malaysia Trade’s Commissioner Siti Azlina Ali Hanafiah also graced the event.
Members of MCCI’s Board of Directors, as well as Cofounders Azhar Mahmood and Alimatar N. Garangan II were also present.
Malaysia was the first Asean member-country to create a business chamber in the Philippines through the MCCI, which was established in February 2017.
