Deloitte Consulting Philippines has partnered with local universities to boost its talent pool in the next five years to serve its global clients.
Uday Sreeram, managing director of Deloitte Consulting Philippine Development Center (PDC), told reporters in a recent press briefing that the company has partnerships with University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas and iACADEMY to discover and train in the consulting technology area. Furthermore, Sreeram said Deloitte said its Universe Alliance Program will also help in identifying potential talents that could be hired by the company once they graduate. Deloitte Consulting PDC currently has about 150 employees. It aims to double this number in a year and generate more than 1,000 jobs in the Philippines in the next five years.
“The Philippines is an ideal location given the convenience in time zones since we will be, for the most part, servicing our clients’ businesses and operations in Asia Pacific. Most important, there is an abundance of young talent from the local universities that have the passion and ambition to develop a career in the global IT arena,” shared Sreeram at the opening of the Deloitte Consulting PD Inc. With the establishment of Deloitte Consulting PDC, there will be unique opportunities for locals to gain global experience. “Filipino IT professionals will have a chance to enhance their skills and gain valuable experience from working on major international projects, and expand their knowledge and get valuable insights from our talented staff in Deloitte technology centers worldwide,” Sreeram said.
Deloitte Consulting PDC is the organization’s first global delivery center in Asia Pacific and will predominantly cater its clients in the region. Prior to establishing its global delivery center in the Philippines, Deloitte also set up regional delivery centers in China and Kuala Lumpur. All in all, the organization has about 26 global, regional and local delivery centers worldwide.
“Our business plans are expanding rapidly in Asia Pacific, and in order to cater to this growth, we needed a delivery arm to serve our clients in this part of the world,” said Jeff Jordan, Deloitte’s Global Delivery Network leader.
“This expansion is part of a series of strategic investments that will allow us to efficiently serve our clients across businesses and regions,” Jordan added.
Deloitte Consulting PDC will provide technology consulting services to various clients with a focus on Digital, ServiceNow, Robotic Process Automation, SAP and Workday.
