President Duterte has appointed former Social Welfare Acting Secretary Virginia N. Orogo as Agrarian Reform undersecretary, vice David D. Erro, appointment papers dated June 13 released by Malacañang on Wednesday showed.
Orogo served as Department of Social Welfare and Development acting secretary for a few months last year before President Duterte appointed Secretary Rolando Joselito D. Bautista, a retired military officer in October.
Prior to her appointment as acting DSWD chief, Orogo also served as DSWD undersecretary for Special Concerns and as deputy national program director for operations of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, the government’s flagship poverty alleviation program.
She was also the alternate chairman for the Inter-Country Adoption Board and the Inter-Agency Council against Trafficking.
Meanwhile, Aldrin A. Darilag was also appointed as commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education.
Darilag is set to replace J. Prospero E. De Vera III. He will be serving for a term expiring on July 21, 2020.
Lastly, Aurelio P. De Leon was also named as the new member of the Philippine Racing Commission.
She will be replacing former Manila Rep. Ramon S. Bagatsing Jr. as representative of the racehorse owners’ association. She will also be serving a four-year term.
