With entrepreneur Wilbert Tolentino backing him up, Janjep Carlos vows to make good at the upcoming Mr. Gay World pageant to be held on May 4 in Cape Town, South Africa. Tolentino is the first Philippine winner in 2009 and currently is the head of Mr. Gay World Philippines.
“Carlos has the looks, the talent, confidence and the proper training for the contest. He simply needs to focus and apply all the training and knowledge our team has given him to be recognized ang bring home the crown,” Tolentino said at the send-off party.
Carlos, on his part, promised to keep his focus. “I will work hard and do my best to make the country proud,” he said. “Actually, the pressure is great, especially last year’s world winner is our very own John Raspado. But I’m hoping with my all heart that my effort will pay off in the end.”
Carlos bagged the chance to represent the country at the Mr. Gay World pageant after winning the Mr. Fahrenheit 2019 search. He bested 17 other aspirants for the title.
The 41-year-old entrepreneur and media influencer is joining the world tilt and is eager to make a mark with his #IllnesstoWellness advocacy riding on mental health, hounding today’s millennials around the world.
He said the LGBTQI community isn’t spared by emotional suffering/depression due to discrimination and bullying.
