IN line with the yearlong celebration of its 40th year, the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) is hosting a fund-raising dinner concert, entitled Dinner with the Cardinal: Sharing a Moment of Grace, on February 4, Monday, 6 p.m., at the Citystate Tower Hotel on 1315 A. Mabini Street, Ermita, Manila.
Manila Archbishop and CMMA Honorary Chairman Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle, together with the CMMA board of trustees, headed by Acting Chairman D. Edgard A. Cabangon, will welcome guests to the event, which will feature the Philippines’s premier soprano Rachelle Gerodias and her husband, Korean baritone Byeong-in Park.
Also performing at the fund-raising event are the One Voice Choir of Santo Niño de Paz Greenbelt Chapel in Makati City, and the Light Side Movement Choir of San Felipe Neri Parish in Mandaluyong City.
Proceeds from the ticket sales of the dinner concert will be used to fund the Soup Kitchen for the Poor project of the CMMA, which aims to help our less fortunate countrymen.
The CMMA was established in 1978 by the late Jaime L. Cardinal Sin, then archbishop of Manila, and is considered the longest-running and most prestigious award-giving body in the country today.
Thousands of mass-media workers in the fields of print, radio, television, cinema, music and the Internet have received the award over the years.
