Remaining true to its tagline, Globe Telecom makes every single connection possible, even in the depths of hills and shores.
Residents now get to enjoy improved mobile-network coverage, as Globe builds up additional cell sites in Barangay Bonbon and Barangay Guba in Cebu City.
Virtually accessible in inclement weather, Barangay Bonbon and Barangay Guba are situated in the uphills of the Queen City of the South, and about an hour away from the central business district. The call for helping communities stay connected, especially in times of disaster, is Globe’s utmost priority.
“This is part of our vision to provide each and every Filipino access to critical telecommunications services, especially those who live in underserved, sparsely populated areas, as they need connectivity the most,” said Globe General Counsel Froilan Castelo, thanking the Cebu City government, headed by Mayor Tomas Osmeña, for the speedy permitting process.
Globe also targets to locate additional towers in Barangay Tabunan, Barangay Sirao and Barangay Babag to address wider network connection of thousands of households around the world.
As part of its ongoing improvement, Globe fortifies its reach, resilience and reliability with its heavy spending on network modernization.
Globe spends 32 percent of its topline revenue in modernizing and upgrading of its networks a year—one of the highest reinvestment ratios among telcos in the world.
About 90 percent of cities and municipalities in the country are LTE-coverage present, with almost 12,000 deployed LTE sites as of last September.
