Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III on Thursday welcomed the signing of the Philippine HIV and AIDS Act by President Duterte’s approval is a “huge step forward in responding to the growing HIV epidemic in the Philippines.”
“Now we can give the proper support to the Filipinos with HIV-AIDS. That is why we are truly grateful to President Duterte for giving priority and action in the fight against HIV-AIDS, “ Duque said.
The law provides comprehensive education and prevention programs for people living with HIV and their families.
It also enables minors 15 years of age to get tested for HIV.
