The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a P46.5-million revetment structure along Tullahan River, a facility that will help serve as a protective barrier to flooding in the area of SSS Village, Barangay North Fairview, Quezon City.
Public Works Director for National Capital Region Melvin B. Navarro said the 461-lineal meter structure replaced the 3-meter grouted riprap that previously served as defense against the force of the river, especially during heavy rains in the area.
“With the taller and sturdier concrete revetment along Tullahan River, residents near the area are assured that the inundation of flooding and soil erosion along the riverbanks will be avoided in case of heavy rains, preventing damages to properties and loss of lives,” Navarro said.
The construction of river wall was funded under 2018 government budget and was implemented from February to November 2018.
