AYALA-LED Manila Water Co. Inc., the concessionaire for the east zone of Metro Manila, on Wednesday said its unit received a notice of award from the Nueva Ecija local government to implement a P1.4-billion project.
In its disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, the company said its wholly owned unit—Manila Water Philippine Ventures Inc.—and Tubig Pilipinas Group Inc. received the notice from the San Jose City Water District-Nueva Ecija.
The joint venture project involves the design, construction, improvement, upgrade, rehabilitation, maintenance, operation, financing, expansion and management of the water supply system and the provision of water and sanitation services in the City of San Jose in the province.
Upon completion of some of the requirements for the deal, the consortium and the local water district “shall enter into a joint venture agreement that will grant the consortium, as contractor to perform certain functions and as agent for the exercise of its right and powers, the sole right to develop, manage, operate, maintain, repair, refurbish and improve, expand and as appropriate, decommission, the facilities in the service area, including the right to bill and collect tariff for water and sanitation services supplied in the service area of SJCWD.”
The project has an estimated capital expenditure program of P1.4 nillion over the 25-year contract period and is estimated to have a billed volume of about 21 million liters per day by the end of the contract period.
Last month, Manila Water also received a notice of award from the Lambunao Water District to service the concession area of the Municipality of Lambunao in Iloilo.
The project will be undertaken by Aqua Centro MWPV Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Manila Water.
