CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Consumer Welfare Month (CWM) celebration in Central Luzon will begin with a fun run and will carry the theme “Making Digital Marketplaces Fairer.”
The fun run will be held inside the Diosdado Macapagal Regional Government Center in Barangay Maimpis here on October 5, Friday, at 6 a.m.
“Provincial offices will also have their respective fun runs in their localities during the first week of October,” Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Regional Director Judith Angeles said.
Other activities include Poster Making Contests and Quiz Bees for students to raise awareness about consumer rights and responsibilities.
It was learned that DTI provincial offices will likewise hold Mini Diskwento Fair, Kapihan, Zumba sessions, market monitoring and media interviews to promote consumer welfare.
Consumer organizations in Central Luzon will participate in a Zumba dance contest and a media forum “Usapang Standards” which will also be held together with the awarding of DTI-CE Bagwis Seal of Excellence to Certified Establishments on October 12, said Angeles.
“We are having our culminating activity on October 26 wherein there will be a presentation by the Department of Information and Communications Technology on the Data Privacy Act,” Angeles added.
