Titleist’s latest performance golf ball, the AVX, has finally arrived in our market. AVX stands for Alternative to V and X, which, conveniently, allows us to understand where this ball fits in Titleist’s considerable line.
The Titleist AVX is a high-performance golf ball providing remarkable distance and exceptionally soft feel through proprietary core, cover and aerodynamic technologies. It offers similar performance characteristics to the Pro V1 and Pro V1x but feels softer, flies lower and spins less than either. The AVX was developed in direct response to golfers’ requests for a softer feeling, lower flighted, lower spinning version of the Pro V balls which shows how responsive Titleist is to the requirements of their customers.
It was a demanding design brief, largely because soft feel is often the antithesis of performance. Titleist engineers surmounted that problem using the following new technologies:
An innovative high speed, low compression core technology results in a powerful engine to drive remarkable distance with exceptionally soft feel.
The invention of a new high flex casing layer enhances speed and controls spin to promote even greater distance.
The proprietary GRN41 thermoset cast urethane elastomer cover has been specifically formulated by Titleist Golf Ball R&D to deliver premium scoring control with exceptionally soft feel and long-lasting durability.
A unique catenary aerodynamic design delivers a piercing, low trajectory, while providing a consistent ball flight on all shots.
AVX is made in the company’s state-of-the-art Ball Plant 3 manufacturing facility to the highest performance and quality specifications in the industry, ensuring the most consistent performance ball to ball, and dozen to dozen.
This golf ball isn’t going to be for everyone, but if you’re the golfer that loves the performance and distance that the Pro V1 and Pro V1x deliver but pines for softer feel and a lower ball flight, you’re in luck. The Titleist AVX is the ball you seek.
