PREMIER luxury developer Ayala Land Premier (ALP), in partnership with the Alcantara Group, recently launched the Azuela Cove—a 25-hectare project aimed to deliver the quintessence of luxury living in Davao City. The site of the project was a former plywood-manufacturing factory owned by the Alcantara Group, one of the major business houses in the province.
“The Residences at Azuela Cove is a pioneer project for Ayala Land Premier in many ways. It is the brand’s first property in the rapidly developing Davao City, and is also the first residential project to be launched within Azuela Cove, Ayala Land’s newest master-planned, mixed-use, sustainable and seaside estate in the region. With this landmark address, we introduce a new dimension to condominium living, fusing the convenience of being fully integrated into an Ayala Land estate with the unique experience of living right by the sea,” said Mike Jugo, managing director of ALP in a press briefing held on June 23 in Lanang, Davao.
Edith Alcantara, director of ALSONS Consolidated Resources Inc., told the media that the company decided to partner with ALP because of its sterling track record in the development of luxury residences.
“Since this is a gem of a property, we chose the market leader in ALP for this project,” she said.
“We have partnered with the best, and so we and the buyers expect for the best results,” she added.
As a major player in the Mindanao area, the Alcantara Group carries a diversified portfolio, including power generation, agribusiness, real-estate development and construction-related industries.
Paolo Viray, head of sales and marketing of ALP, said the project is special for the company in several ways. First, it is ALP’s first property in the fast-growing Davao City, and also the first residential project to be introduced within Azuela Cove.
Jugo said Azuela Cove will raise the bar in home, business and lifestyle in Mindanao. He added Azuela Cove’s sprawling Central Park bisecting the estate will allow residents greater mobility. Furthermore, a waterside Esplanade will allow residents unique sea views. For people who want to dine and relax, ALP will put up specialty restaurants and cafés that will offer a slew of concepts and cuisines set to open their doors this July.
On the health aspect, the estate will open the newest location of Saint Luke’s Medical Center, the first outside of Metro Manila. The tertiary health-care facility will cater to around 250 beds and is set to open in 2022.
Jugo said current developments in project include Events at Enderun, an air-conditioned event space operated by Enderun Colleges of Davao businessman Dennis Uy. Positioned as a venue for various events, the venue can accommodate up to 1,500 guests and capable to host engagements such as conventions and exhibits.
For the sporty individuals, the recently opened Sports Hub features a Fifa-standard-size soccer field and basketball and volleyball courts that also follow global sporting standards.
The units at Azuela
Jugo said Azuela Cove offers various options designed to provide the best lifestyle experiences in Davao.
The Seaview Corner Suite, approximately 181 square meters, has a 13-sq-m balcony facing Davao Gulf. One of three bedrooms can function as an independent studio-type unit with its own door, toilet and bath, and kitchenette, allowing for flexibility of use.
The Seaview Horizon Suite is another three-bedroom home, covering approximately 196 sq m. It has also a 25-meter balcony spanning the entirety of the living space. All three bedrooms face the sea.
Seaview Corner Suites were sold at about P33.1 million; the Seaview Horizon Suites at about P40.2 million; and the penthouse-level Seascape Villas were priced at P80.8 million per unit.
The Residences at Azuela Cove is in the quiet, waterside area of the estate. Putting premium on privacy and exclusivity, each floor at The Residences at Azuela Cove will only have four units, all of them three-bedroom homes with two distinct layouts.
Jugo said around 70 percent of the units in Tower 1 were bought by Davao-based individuals, followed by 15 percent from Manila with businesses or families in Davao. Some 15 percent represent those purchased by buyers from abroad and from neighboring provinces.
“What we are seeing is the confidence of the Davao market in the project’s unique and first-of-its-kind concept. The luxury seaside condominium is a first in Davao, and offers three distinctive features: First, all units will have balconies and commanding sea views; second, residents are offered heightened exclusivity within a low-density environment, with each floor composed of only four units; and third, spacious living formats that afford Davao’s well-heeled families the luxury of space and flexibility of choice,” said Viray.
The Residences at Azuela Cove is set for completion in 2023. Its second tower is set to be launched in the coming months.
