THE booming economy of Cebu can be seen in the number of vehicles plying its wide roads, as well as the construction of high rise buildings left and right. So, it’s not surprising that Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) and the Ayala Automotive Arm, Isuzu Cebu INC. (ICI), an umbrella of the Ayala Group of Companies, held another groundbreaking on their third dealership located in the South of Cebu.
The upcoming dealership, which is expected to be inaugurated come September of this year, stands on a 3,600 sqm property in Brgy. Calajoan in Minglanilla, is way bigger than the current one located along the Natalio B. Bacalso National Highway in Talisay City.
In an interview with some members of the media prior to the ground-breaking ceremonies, which was attended by IPC officials led by its President Hajime Koso and Joseph Bautista, Marketing Head, Steve Gingco, Isuzu Cebu general manager said,” We are lucky to have this location right in heart of where we want to be in the South”.
Gingco added that their upcoming dealership will surely benefit Isuzu owners in the South, as they no longer need to go to the city, where traffic is bad for their servicing needs.
ICI President Manny Aligada, on the other hand, said aside from the dealership in Minglanilla, they will have four more groundbreaking events in successive days, with the first one happening in Taytay, Rizal, followed by another one this time in Roxas, Capiz and finally somewhere in Cavite all happening within the month.
Meanwhile, IPC President Hajime Koso greeted everyone in Cebuano in his opening remarks that elicited applauses from all the attendees. He said, “Today, I am especially happy to witness the groundbreaking ceremony of yet another Isuzu outlet. Less than three years ago I was here in Cebu to attend the formal opening of the new Isuzu Cebu city dealership at the reclamation area, a clear indication that the Cebuano market is very booming, in fact, the 2017 sales of Isuzu Talisay along grew by 82 percent compared with the previous year”.
He commended the people of ICI for their hard work and effort to bring Isuzu products and services closer to the people of Southern Cebu.
The charismatic IPC President finished his short but well-written speech by saying “In behalf of members of Isuzu Philippines Corp., I extend our heartfelt congratulations to ICI for this exciting new project and we are all looking towards the inauguration of a bigger and better Isuzu South”.
The formal construction is expected to start sometime in May and is expected to be finish by September. The showroom can display five vehicles while the service area, which will eat up most of the space is designed to service mostly trucks, which actually make up the bulk of sale for Isuzu in Cebu.
