FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija—The 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division (7ID) held on Monday afternoon a send-off ceremony for the 56th Infantry (Tatag) Battalion at the 7ID Grandstand.
The 56 Infantry Battalion (56IB), one of the most accomplished battalions of 7ID, will be deployed to the Mindanao area to support the campaign plan of the Philippine Army in one of the major islands of the country.
The battalion has been successful in the conduct of Community Support Program and other activities in the province of Aurora. There was even a motion by the local government units of Aurora submitted to the higher headquarters to request for the retention of the battalion, but the transfer of the 56IB to Mindanao was already scheduled for quite some time.
“We are assured that 56IB had been exceptional in the conduct of their duties and responsibilities in their previous area of responsibility. The fact that residents of Aurora do not want to let go of 56IB indicates that Tatag troopers played a vital role in maintaining the peace and sustaining the development of the province,” 7ID Commander Maj. Gen. Felimon T. Santos Jr. said.
“I am confident that 56IB will surpass their performance in Luzon even if it requires some adjustments in Mindanao,” the commander said.
Tatag troopers are now ready to serve Mindanaoans after being deployed in Luzon for many years.
