SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SMPH) announced the opening of its shopping mall in Imus, Cavite, on February 16, its sixth mall in the province.
Set to provide 13,000 square meters in gross floor area, the new shopping mall opens with the company’s brands, including its supermarket, appliance center, Hardware, Miniso, Watsons and BDO.
“The opening of SM Center Imus marks another milestone for SM Prime. This mall is located right at the heart of Imus City to provide more convenience to the residents, as well as guests of this historic city,” SM Prime President Jeffrey C. Lim was quoted in a statement as saying.
SM’s mall in Imus is the company’s first opening for the year.
The mall will open with 90 percent of space lease-awarded and will have features, such as an indoor town Plaza, a venue for concert and sporting events; tenants, such as full-service clinic, pharmacy and wellness spa that are open to serve mallgoers any time of the day, seven days a week; and the small and medium enterprises popular local concept, where top favorite local brands will be made available for everyone’s enjoyment and satisfaction.
SMPH considers the Imus mall will further boost the presence of SM brand in the province. The company operates five other malls in Bacoor, Dasmariñas, Molino, Rosario and Trece Martires.
SMPH became the first Philippine company to reach P1 trillion in market capitalization on the back of favorable market outlook. The capitalization was reached after the Sy family integrated all of its major property businesses under SMP in 2013.
“The strategic move of SM Group enabled [SMPH] to realize synergies among its business units, increasing efficiencies in operations and revenue in enhanced shareholder value,” the company said. “It also allowed SM Prime to pursue larger projects, from reclaiming land to long-term integrated developments.”
