FORT MAGSAYSAY, NUEVA ECIJA—The 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division (7ID) of the Philippine Army and Tarlac Heritage Foundation gave on Thursday incentive awards to participants of the Handog Pangkabuhayan Animal Dispersal Project who have successfully fulfilled their required program criteria at the Ermita, Barangay Abogado in Paniqui, Tarlac.
A total of 39 beneficiaries received livestock, while eight awardees were given cash incentives ranging from P4,000 to P10,000.
Lt. Gen. Rolando Joselito D. Bautista, commanding general of the Philippine Army; and Maj. Gen. Felimon T. Santos Jr., commander of the 7ID, awarded the cash incentives with Dr. Isa Cojuangco-Suntay, cofounder of the Tarlac Heritage Foundation. Brig. Gen. Henry A. Robinson Jr., Commander of the 702nd Infantry (Defender) Brigade; Brig. Gen. Felicisimo Budiongan; and Lt. Col. Antonio Bello, Commander of the 3rd Mechanized Infantry (Makatarungan) Battalion, Mechanized Infantry Division, presented certificates to the awardees.
The project started in 2013, aiming to uplift the lives of people in the countryside through livelihood projects. It also provided seminar trainings for animal husbandry and free veterinary care. Those who successfully raise livestock and produce the required animal offspring qualify for the cash-incentive award.
Santos said the 7ID supports the initiatives of non-governmental organizations that help marginalized sectors of the community to have a better life, and the Command will always be willing to offer its services when necessary.
