LOCAL television network TV5 and United States-based sports channel ESPN launched the ESPN5-branded editions of ESPN.com along with its sports-streaming service for all Filipino fans.
Introduced as ESPN5.com, fans will have digital access to all news, scores and videos from the sporting scene around the world.
The new site offers ESPN’s leadership in comprehensive sports coverage, which is a good fit to sports-loving Filipinos.
“ESPN has a strong connection with fans around the world because we are fans ourselves, driven by a similar obsession for sports,” ESPN Southeast Asian Head Joyee Biswas said.
“The launch of our new cobranded digital multisports products for Philippine sports fans showcases our digital leadership and offers sports fans outstanding news, features and video experiences around top sports of interest,” he added.
TV5 President Chot Reyes applauded the move which, he said, would benefit the network’s adoring audience.
“We are proud to be able to feature Philippine sports news, stories from the Philippine Basketball Association, Philippine SuperLiga and Gilas,” Reyes said.
The ESPN5.com and ESPN app will share stories from mainstream sports in the country and the best of ESPN’s comprehensive coverage of global sports.
Last October TV5 collaborated with ESPN or a multiyear partnership that will give local audiences the taste of wider range of programs.
