AS a show of force in advancing the learnings of young Filipinos today, the National Youth Commission (NYC) recently tied up with social enterprise Edukasyon.ph to link more students to academic opportunities and promote career awareness.
NYC Chairman Aiza Seguerra and Edukasyon.ph Partnerships Manager Patricia Carolino led the signing of a memorandum of agreement at the commission’s headquarters in Quezon City.
Witnessing the event were NYC Commissioner at Large James Ceasar Ventura and Commissioner Rhea Peñaflor.
“We strongly believe this partnership will complement both our vision of a better nation of educated and informed Filipinos,” Carolino said. “I believe our collaboration will also inspire the youth to contribute to our great cause.”
Both institutions—by way of career education and counseling—will work on bolstering programs and project campaigns for the youth, such as scholarships, exchange programs and volunteer initiatives.
These include the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth, Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program and other projects related to employment awareness and readiness.
In August last year, Edukasyon.ph received the 2017 Association of Southeast Asian Nations Youth Social Entrepreneurship Award for its efforts in making education accessible to all Filipino students.
“Through an accessible and innovative solution Edukasyon.ph helps students have an informed choice and find the right school leading to enhanced employability,” Edukasyon.ph CEO and Cofounder Henry Motte-Muñoz said.
Edukasyon.ph is a social enterprise in the education-technology sector that connects students to education opportunities through its web site, www.edukasyon.ph, and promotes career awareness among Filipino youth.
