Planbank Rural Bank of Canlubang Planters Inc., the largest rural bank in Laguna province, celebrates today the opening of its newly relocated branch in San Pablo City.
Located at 65 Rizal Avenue, San Pablo City, the branch was formerly situated in Poblacion, Calamba City.
Top Planbank officials, namely, Dominga Rufina S. Cabangon Chua, president; Dominga Michaela S. Cabangon Chua, vice president for Corporate Support Services; Justice Harriet O. Dimetriu, chairman of the board of directors; and Leonora B. Zafra, treasurer, welcomed guests, led by San Pablo City Mayor Loreto Amante and Vice Mayor Angie Yang.
The event is highlighted by a thanksgiving Mass to be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Reynaldo Reloj at 10 a.m., followed by the opening ceremonies.
A member of the ALC Group, and a conglomerate named after the initials of its founder, Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua, Planbank currently has 15 branches: 11 in Laguna, two in Batangas province and two in Bulacan.
Planbank specializes in serving businessmen, community entrepreneurs and those who are part of the agricultural industry. Its loan products include real-estate mortgage, salary loan, back-to-back loan, microfinance loan, SSS pension and auto loans. It also has a unique offering of the low-interest jewelry loan where customers get loans in exchange for
jewelry pieces as collateral.
Planbank was a family-owned bank incorporated in 1952 by sugar planters who were members of the Banco Rural de Ca-Ba-Lag, a cooperative operating and serving the needs of sugar planters from the provinces of Cavite, Batangas and Laguna.
The bank was acquired in October 2013 by the ALC Group, which opened Planbank Santo Tomas branch in Batangas province on June 27, 2014, as the first under its leadership.
