118-110, that was the score of judge Adalaide Byrd in Sunday’s clash of titans between Gennady Golovkin and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
What fight was she watching? Was she wearing contact lenses when she was watching? Was she tested before and after the fight?
According to Manny Pacquiao’s Twitter page, “did they bring in the judges from Australia?” They sure judged the fight like those Australian judges did.
It was 114-114 and 115-113 for Golovkin. Alvarez was the aggressor in the early rounds but Golovkin started to assert himself beginning of the fourth.
Alvarez didn’t win ten rounds yesterday if you do the math on Byrd’s scorecard. Alvarez in my opinion, won about five rounds of the twelve round slugfest.
Only two good things came out of this, Golovkin gets to keep all his belts and we get a rematch. Both fighters would like to go at it one more time. Hopefully something can be worked out to bring these two Warriors of the sweet science into the squared circle.
This is the best fight there is out there unless McGregor challenges Manny Pacquiao to a fight or Floyd decides to challenge Conor in the octagon.
Byrd should never be allowed to judge again. According to ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith, “was she tested after the fight?”
Longtime and legendary boxing trainer Teddy Atlas who’s been in the boxing business for 40 years was livid and beside himself in his post-fight analysis.
