Chris Bitoon scores 22 points and Wang’s Basketball used solid second half to stun Racal Motors, 93-84, on Monday in the Philippine Basketball Association Developmental League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Arena in Pasig City.
It was the second straight win for the Couriers, who outscored the Alibaba, 48-37, in the second half with a suffocating defense.
Robert Herdon finished with 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Couriers, who improved to 3-2 won-lost, their best start since joining the league two years ago.
“We brought down a big fish because of team effort,” a jubilant Coach Pablo Lucas said.
The Couriers brandished the chemistry they have been raving about as they weathered a fourth-quarter rally and broke away from a 70-68 count to an 81-72 edge behind a big fourth quarter from Mike Sorela.
“We got the chemistry, unlike before when there was a wall. The players got the motivation they needed,” Lucas said.
Marlon Gomez collected 15 points and six rebounds to show the way for Racal, which fell to its second straight defeat.
Roider Cabrera scored 10 of his 14 points in the first half but was relegated to the bench for most of the second half when the Alibaba needed somebody to score.
