LUCKY for us, the recent Asean Summit and Labor Day gave us a prolonged weekend getaway where we can enjoy the scorching heat of the sun at our own beloved local tourist spots. But as late as it was declared, searching and saving for a cost-friendly hotel/resort reservation become quite hard.
So, while browsing for the best and nearest spot to spend the long weekend, I have seen a promo in Metrodeal, a site that offers discounted vouchers, in which luxury and affordability. Right away, I bought the voucher for only P2,000 per night at Amihan del Sol at the Boracay of the South, in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.
To reach Puerto Galera, you have to spend three hours of land travel via bus going to Batangas Port and another hour in the ocean going to Muelle Pier in Puerto Galera. For less hassle, it’s best to book a roundtrip ticket at the Batangas Port. All you have to spend is only P50 to reach Amihan del Sol via shuttle.
Once you have dropped by at Amihan del Sol, you have to take 109 steps up to reach the resort proper, where the staff welcomes you with an ice-cold drink, refreshing and wiping away your tiredness. Since I’m not used to brisk-walking or running, it all comes back at the minute I’ve passed out on my first climb—sounds overreacting, but it is true.
Atop, the view is perfectly breathtaking. You will see nothing but its beauty—Puerto Galera at its most serene space—surrounded by trees and diamond-like clear waters of the ocean. It is truly magical and beautiful.
Just in time for rest; it reserved for us is ready for occupancy; was just perfect, the room gives you the chance to relax and unwind from the stress in the city.
Minimally designed, nude colors—played in white and brown—give you an earthy ambiance, which makes it a natural island escapade. The light-colored curtains and sheets make you even want to stay in bed all day.
Let me also mention its five-star bathroom equipped with a huge bathtub, where you can enjoy a relaxing candlelight bubble bath. Since it only has five rooms in the whole resort, you do not have to worry about the pool getting crowded. You can actually have the whole pool alone, while getting tan-skinned or viewing the sunset, even when you feel like dipping at night.
The room was made extra special because of its veranda with the sight of the Puerto Galera White Beach. This is the most majestic place in the room. Perfect time to stay in the veranda? At sunset. And what’s in it for you? You will definitely not want to miss such a lifetime moment.
Since Amihan del Sol is along the highway of Aninuan, Puerto Galera, it is actually 20 minutes away from the famous White Beach. A very accommodating staff will assist you, be it on taking a ride to the White Beach and back to the resort, choosing your meals or searching for another room to extend you stay in Puerto Galera when Amihan is fully booked.
Checking in on a world-class hotel in the Metro really costs a lot. Good thing Amihan del Sol exists—it is something that all working millennials should experience. It is a place where you can enjoy partying with the crowd at the White Beach, watch poi dancers and drink the famous Mindoro Sling at night, and go back to your home away from home at Amihan del Sol to sleep soundly and wake up with a very beautiful view.
