SITEL SM Cybersite formally opened its fourth site in Baguio City on March 24, bringing the count to 13 its customer contact-service centers since it first set shop in the country 16 years ago.
Sitel Philippines COO Craig Reines expressed his satisfaction with doing business in the city, citing the positive support of the local government as a key factor in their continued growth and expansion.
“Baguio was a natural choice because it has been good to us for 12 years, and the region still has tremendous growth potential,” he said, adding a good plan, government support and a dynamic community are key factors for a positive economic impact.
Sitel remains the biggest employer in the region. Starting in 2004, it had 35 employees that has grown to the present-day 4,000 workers.
Michael de la Peña, Sitel Philippines vice president of operations for Northern Luzon, said with the company’s sustained upgrading of their facilities, they are constantly stepping up their game. And with this goes a growing opportunity for more employment in the city.
