TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte—The Regional Development Council (RDC) in Eastern Visayas approved and endorsed the P191-billion budget for 2018 of regional line agencies and state-run schools during its first-quarter full-council meeting on March 22.
The programs, activities and projects listed in the budget of agency regional offices and state universities and colleges (SUCs) “are supportive of the regional development priorities, specifically in pushing for a sustainable robust inclusive economy, reduction of poverty and responsive to the disaster rehabilitation and recovery needs of the region”, a briefing paper of the RDC Secretariat said.
Among the four major sectors, the social-development sector, which includes 10 SUCs and seven regional offices of national government agencies, gets P106.76 billion, or 56 percent, of the proposed budget.
