CITY OF MALOLOS—Bulacan athletes frolicked in their own backyard to dominate the recent Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) Meet at the Bulacan Sports Complex here.
The Bulakenyo athletes won 109 gold, 76 silver and 49 bronze medals in paving their way to the Palarong Pambansa Antique is hosting in April.
Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado congratulated the province’s athletes, who beat competitors from Zambales, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bataan, Olongapo City and Tarlac.
“We will act, think, move as one [in the Palaro]. We will draw from all the sufferings and
experiences, we will draw from the heart of suffering the many inspirations,” Alvarado said.
Alvarado also bared Central Luzon will bid for the hosting of the Palaro in the future.
According to Dr. Romeo Alip, Schools Division Superintendent, Division of Bulacan, the province has won 16 overall championships in the CLRAA.
Bataan placed second with 42 gold, 41 silver and 30 bronze medals, while Olongapo City ranked third place with 29 gold, 35 silver and 40 bronze medals.
Cabanatuan City earned the Most Disciplined Delegation award and Pampanga clinched the Cleanest and Eco-Friendly Delegation trophy.
