AIR FORCE and Cignal shut down their respective semifinals foes in Game Two to arrange a third straight finals meeting in Spikers’ Turf Season 2 Reinforced Conference on Monday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
The Jet Spikers bucked a lethargic start before sweeping Instituto Estetico Manila (IEM), 23-25, 25-16, 25-12, 25-17, to close out their best-of-three semis series in just two games.
Air Force veteran Bryan Bagunas led the charge with 21 points, while former collegiate stars Mark Alfafara of UST and Howard Mojica of Emilio Aguinaldo College chipped in 18 and 13 markers, respectively.
Lorenzo Capate, Isay Marasigan and Raymark Woo combined for 33 points to propel the HD Spikers in knocking out Champion Supra in straight sets, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20.
The rivalry started in last year’s Reinforced Conference finals won by Cignal. The two met again in this season’s Open Conference with Air Force avenging its loss to Cignal.
IEM and Champion Supra, on the other hand, are relegated in the battle for third spot.
