CRYSTAL Dragon, the premium Cantonese and regional Chinese restaurant at City of Dreams Manila, launches an exciting food lineup to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival on September 15, 2016.
The Mid-Autumn Festival provides the perfect excuse to gather family and friends to partake in a selection of delectable a la carte dishes, which symbolize a wealth of positive traits, such as prosperity, happiness and unity. Chef de Cuisine Chan Choo Kean exhibits his mastery of the Chinese culinary arts by letting the flavors of ingredients shine with the different styles of cooking he employs. Thee special menu, according to him, will change every year. e same ingredients may be used but will employ different cooking methods.
The lobster (regarded as the “dragon of the sea”) in the Wok Fried Boston Lobster tails with Spices, Salt and Pepper symbolizes unity. The firm meat of the lobster clinging to its shell is an indication of freshness. Savor the sweetness and succulence of this crustacean.
The steamed marinated Pork Ribs with Pork Sausage and Mushroom (a medley of smoked delights), as well as the Wok Fried Vermicelli with Shredded Pork, Vegetables and Foie Gras stand for strength, wealth and abundant blessing.
The Sauteed Sea Grouper with Mushrooms, Honey Beans and Celery induces prosperity, while the Braised Sea Cucumber Baby Abalone with Bean Curd in Clay Pot, on the other hand, exhibits good fortune. The abalone is shaped like a coin, while the bean curd is fashioned like a gold bar. The sea cucumber, the “ginseng of the sea”, is believed to have healing and therapeutic properties.
The Stewed Chicken with Chinese Wine Sauce (cooked Taiwanese Style) signifies prosperity and togetherness. The celebration of the said festival, also known as Mooncake Festival, would not be complete without its Homemade Three Flavor Snow Skin Moon cake. The snow skin mooncake has glutinous rice crusts and is normally eaten cold.
