A MORE action-filled Gatorade Run is expected on November 27 at the SM Mall of Asia grounds in Pasay City.
This was promised by Pepsico Marketing Manager for Hydration Tony Atayde and race director Rio de la Cruz during the event’s media launch on Thursday night at the F1 Hotel at the Bonifacio Global City.
“Last year was a very successful event where more than 6,000 runners attended. This year, we are targeting 8,000 runners,” de la Cruz said. The event will have the 11-kilometer and 22-km distances and Atayde stressed Gatorade’s focus is on the importance of hydration.
“We are giving the runners prerun hydration drinks and dynamic warm-up, as well as postrun hydration tests to know instantly the status of the runners,” Atayde said.
“There will also be free consultation from the experts. Gatorade is a global leader in sports performance and we’ll definitely bring that expertise to the run,” Atayde added.
“Learning the benefits of proper hydration is crucial for runners and we look forward to reinforcing that message through the Gatorade Run.” Adidas will again provide the race kits and finishers’ shirts. Finishers in the 22-km race will receive medals.
Gatorade ambassadors Jeron Teng, Alyssa Valdez, Jaja Santiago and other local endorsers are expected to grace in the event.
Runners coul register at selected adidas outlets starting on October 19. Online registration already started on Monday at runrio.com. Registration ends on Novemeber 23.
