WORLD Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) star Sami Zayn expressed his excitement in facing bitter rival Kevin Owens in the action-packed fight card of the WWE Live in Manila on September 9 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The friends-turned-foes Zayn and Owens added a thrilling punch to the stacked lineup of the second event of WWE in the country since it first gave Filipino fans a slam-bang spectacle in 2009.
“This match of Kevin Owens and I is known pretty much of all the fans all over the world. We’re just gonna be bringing that rivalry. This is gonna be a new chapter of a very long story. We guarantee that we’ll gonna have a great match,” the 32-year-old native of Quebec, Canada, said.
Their 13-year feud rooted back in 2002, when their close ties turned into a fierce competition when the two wanted to stay away from their differences inside and outside the ring.
Now, they will face each other for another intense clash along with other wrestlers in the fight card that also features Golden Truth, The Shining Stars, Neville, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel.
“It’s gonna be incredible, I’m just so excited for me personally, because I’ve never been to the Philippines, and a lot of the guys from the show have never been to the Philippines,” added Zayn, who likes his chances against Owens.
“Every time we go to a new country or a new territory like this, we’re twice as motivated, we’re twice as hard, and the fans are usually twice as good. It’s just so exciting,” he added.
Iconic wrestlers Big Show and John Cena headlines will the show that is expected to draw avid fans from all over the country.
WWE is excited to return to the Philippines, giving WWE’s passionate fans the chance to see their favorite superstars.
