SUPERLATIVES run out when trying to describe dining at Marriott Manila’s namesake café. The friendly and well-informed staff, the spacious dining area and of course, the food all make for an unforgettable meal. Even the most discriminating gourmand should find that Marriott Café can more than meet the most exacting standards.

wine02a-050816As a global leader in the hospitality industry, Marriott assures its diners of not just great food, but religious and dietary sensitivity too. As proof of their commitment, Marriott Manila’s services has even received a “Halal-friendly” certification from CrescentRating, a Halal travel authority. So whether you are in the mood for some Prawn Palak or Biryani, you can rest assured that all the dishes are prepared and sourced properly.

There quite a number of specialty food sections at the Marriott Café to cater to every diner’s fancy. For seafood lovers, their Sustainable Catch section offers the best and freshest seafood. From oysters to prawns to curacha, only the sweetest, freshest seafood make the grade. For pasta, the “Make Your Own Pasta” station lets the guests customize their pasta creations from a choice of pastas, sauces and the freshest and best ingredients. In the mood for some Chinese cuisine? They have that too. Not to be missed is the Sushi-Sashimi section, expertly selected bites of the freshest seafood, prepared the traditional Japanese way.

wine02b-050816Not to be outdone, the Filipino section commands the most space at the buffet. Marriott Hotel Manila Sous Chef Bryan Salarzon states: “ The hotel supports local cuisine so we make sure that the biggest selection in the buffet is Filipino. We are in Manila after all”.

This makes perfect sense as Marriott Manila’s guests come from all over the world. What better place to come and try what the country’s food scene has to offer than in the comfort of your hotel? And breaking the norm of “standardized” hotel food, Marriott Café’s offerings are as authentic as they get. It’s as if you’ve scoured the streets of Manila for local favorites, only this time, the expert kitchen team of Marriott Manila has done all the hard work. All the guests need to do is take their pick and sample from a well-curated spread. For a dining operation as large as Marriott has, they’ve pulled all the right strings to bring guests authentic Filipino favorites such as Bulalong Batangas, Sinigang and Bopis.

Home-cooking and hotels don’t normally share the same space. But true to Marriott Café’s commitment to serve only the best, they’ve pulled it off! For the weary traveller or the discriminating diner, Marriott Café’s buffet surely embodies hospitality at its finest, making guests feel right at home.
