HOOQ Inc., a start-up joint venture between Singapore Telecommunications Ltd., Sony Pictures Television Inc. and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., sees the local video-on-demand market in a positive light.
Filipinos will crave for more video-on-demand content through television series offerings as they get exposed to the latest viewing trends in the global market, according to a HOOQ executive.
In an interview on January 21 in Makati City, HOOQ TV Marketing Head Sheila Paul said the company plans to introduce more shows.
Paul spoke to reporters after Netflix Inc. announced on January 6 it would make its content locally available. She said HOOQ is making available a show that is a remake of a British TV series from 2011.
“The year 2015 has been good for us, and we have promised our customers to deliver a host of new and exciting TV series ranging from in-season series to same day as the US telecast.”
