PHILIPPINE Azkals star Stephan Schrock will bring his world-class football skills to Ceres-La Salle Football Club as the team announced its big acquisition through its official Facebook page.
The reigning United Football League (UFL) champions announced on Thursday that the Filipino-German is their newest addition to the team and set to join the team practice next week in Negros Occidental.
“April fools no more, the long-awaited moment is happening for Philippine football, International Filipino footballer Stephan Markus Schröck is heading his way to the province of Negros Occidental next week to join the pride of Negros Ceres La Salle Football Club in preparation for AFC Cup, UFL Cup and UFL league 2016! #ceresfc,” Ceres-La Salle F.C. posted on its Facebook page.
The acquisition of Schrock is expected to be a great addition for Ceres-La Salle since the team will be loaded this 2016.
The Bacolodnians-based squad will represent the Philippines in Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup 2016, which starts in February. They are also on a mission in defending their title in the upcoming UFL 2016.
Ceres-La Salle debuts in AFC CUP 2016 on February 23 against Selangor F.A. of Malaysia. Other teams they will face in Group E are Tampines Rovers or Warriors FC of Singapore, and Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club of Bangladesh.
Schrock’s addition is not only a big boost to the Ceres-La Salle squad but also to the UFL as his rich experience in international football adds glamour to the league.
