MACABEBE, Pampanga—Pampanga Gov. Lilia G. Pineda and this town’s Mayor Annette Flores Balgan inaugurated on Monday the newly constructed P7-million extension wing at the left side of the old town hall.
Provincial Administrator Andres S. Pangilinan Jr. and department heads of the provincial government accompanied the governor, who joined the regular Monday Flag Raising Ceremony in front of the town hall here.
The second floor of the new municipal hall extension now housed the Human Resources Management Office and the offices of the engineering department, assessor, accounting section, the Department of the Interior and Local Government and conference hall, while the first floor will be occupied by the town’s police station.
Pineda said the municipal government augmented funds for the full completion of the town hall’s extension wing.
She said the provincial government has also initiated the renovation of the Mayor Domingo Flores District Hospital for the town’s residents seeking medical and health services, especially those coming from the coastal villages.
The governor said the Capitol has also allotted at least P10 million for the improvement of the old covered court at the 5-hectare “hidden paradise” in Barangay San Francisco, that the town’s government bought from the National Food Authority.
The governor is optimistic that time will come when Macabebe will be flood-free, as the provincial government is bent to purchase a P200-million dredger which is intended to desilt the Pampanga River all year- round, especially in the sections of Macabebe and Masantol.
