DIRECT-TO-HOME pay television provider Cignal TV Inc. ended 2015 with flying colors as it almost breached the 1.2-million subscriber mark in end-December, making it the first Filipino subscription-based television operator to hit the 1-million level.
Roughly 330,000 new subscribers were added in Cignal’s customer base last year, thanks to the aggressive deployment of its direct-to-home satellite service and innovative program offerings.
“We would like to convey our heartfelt gratitude to our customers and our valued partners for enabling us to achieve this industry milestone in 2015,” outgoing Cignal President Oscar Enrico A. Reyes Jr. said. “In 2016, we shall build the business further by offering more innovative program packages that will delight customers all over the country.”
Incoming Cignal President Jane B. Basas said she will continue improving the company’s margins, while improving customer experience all the more.
“The company will continue to lead the industry in both content diversification and best-in-class infrastructure given its links with PLDT, the country’s leading telecommunication company,” she said, referring to parent firm Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co.
In the lineup for the first quarter of 2016 are new programs, such as The Feb. 15 Club, Class 3-C Has A Secret, Barrio Kulimlim, Kuya and Me, Sa Ngalan Ng Anak, Tabi Po—all available in the Sari-Sari channel.
