CLARK FREEPORT—The Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) will use at least P100 million to pay the designer of the modern passenger terminal at the Clark International Airport (CRK) here.
This, according to CIAC President and CEO Emigdio Tanjuatco III who was interviewed at his office last week. Tanjuatco said the funds to pay the designer will be taken from the P1.2-billion budget for the first phase of the new terminal that would increase CRK’s capacity from 4 million to 7 million passengers annually.
Tanjuatco added that they are still in the process of determining the designer of the new terminal.
He said the bidding for the P1.2-billion airport terminal will be held in June 2016.
“We still have to get the designers. There will be processes along the way. The bidding may likely be held in June next year,” Tanjuatco said. He earlier said the ground-breaking for the project will be held in June 2016.
The total cost of the terminal, designed by France’s Aeroport de Paris Inc., would be P15 billion when finished by 2022, the CIAC said.
