LUBAO, Pampanga—Gov. Lilia G. Pineda vowed to provide P300, 000 aid to 86 poor villages of the province with less than P1.5 million annual Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA).
“I know your IRA is not enough to fund your priority projects as your 20-percent development is too little and not enough for the construction of even a barangay road,” the governor told the village chiefs.
With this call, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan immediately responded through the enactment and approval of the necessary ordinance.
The provincial board members led by Vice Gov. Dennis Pineda also vowed for the speedy approval of the request of the provincial chief executive which, they said, is intended for community development.
The governor said all marginalized villages of the province will also be given communal public toilets with complete artesian wells, covered courts and barangay hall with necessary supplies and equipment, such as computer sets, as her legacy should she be elected in her last term as governor.
She asked the 86 barangay captains to provide vacant lots owned by the barangays with complete transfer certificate of titles as their counterpart and the provincial government will shoulder the construction of barangay halls and covered courts.
She also enjoined all the concerned village chiefs to locate all sick Capampangans in their communities with gall bladder stone, myoma, polyps, cysts, dialysis patients, tuberculosis and other illnesses so the provincial government could schedule a massive medical missions.
The governor said in time for the Pampanga Day Celebration, the provincial government will schedule Persons With Disability Day, BHW Day, Cancer Patients’ Day, Dialysis Patients Day, Farmers Day, Buntis Congress Day, among others, so they could benefit from the assistance of the provincial government.
“Use the barangay patrol services that we gave, bring all the poor in district and provincial hospitals,” she added.
The governor said there is no reason for the poor not to be admitted in hospitals as the national and provincial government provide free Philippine Health Insurance Corp. through the National Household Targeting System and the Point of Care Program of the provincial government.
She also told the village chiefs that the Capitol will prioritize the registered 50,000 out-of-school youth through the Alternative Learning System and train them for local and foreign employment.
