CEBU CITY—The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, which operates at least 1,350 hotels in 105 countries, is opening this year a 154-room hotel at the property of SM City Clark in Pampanga.
Ann Olalo, director of Sales and Marketing of Raddison Blu Hotel Cebu, said the Park Inn by Radisson at the 20-hectare area of SM City Clark will “definitely open” by December. Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson are two of the global brands of Carlson Rezidor, which is based in Minnesota, USA, and Brussels, Belgium.
The SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. of the Sy family and Carlson Rezidor opened in 2010 the 400-room Radisson Blu, a five-star luxury hotel here. Then the two groups invested in Davao City, opening the first Park Inn by Radisson brand at the southern area of the country.
Olalo said they will have a soft-opening before Christmas. She added that more than half of their total rooms will be available shortly after the opening
“We are very optimistic on the marketing potentials of Clark and Pampanga. You also have the airport,” Olalo said. She was referring to the Clark International Airport, which offers regular flights to Cebu via the three-times-a-week flights of Cebu Pacific Air.
Olalo said they are targeting Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions of firms based in Metro Manila, Pampanga and Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
“Of course, we will also target the local market,” said Olalo, who hosted Pampanga-based journalists at the premier hotel in Cebu City.
Olalo said they will offer their rooms at P4,000 per night and “this could go lower when we give special discounts.”
“Our prices are definitely lower compared to the rates at the hotels in Clark. But we will have the best service and amenities,” Olalo said. She added that Park Inn by Radisson is a three-star hotel brand.
The property of the SM Clark is at boundary of Angeles City and Mabalacat City. It’s near the main gate of the Clark Freeport, where there are some 600 locators employing at least 72,000 workers.
