HITACHI Data Systems (HDS) launched on Thursday its new lineup of software-defined infrastructure solutions, which are expected to augment its growth this year.
As part of the company’s advanced analytics foundation, these new products will address critical challenges being faced by the industries of telecommunications, health care, business analytics, public safety, energy and automotive.
“The fundamentals of IT [information technology] are changing, whether it is the adoption of ‘third platform’ technologies and striking the proper balance among the different models of IT, or the ongoing move to providing IT as a service,” HDS Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific said.
With this in mind, customers are looking for ways to be more agile and flexible to gain a competitive advantage, he added.
Hitachi is delivering this new innovation to support the changing needs of customer application environments.
“In a world where rampant data growth and increasing IT and organizational complexity are often the culprits of stunted business growth, vendors that can streamline the path to becoming a truly data-driven organization ultimately stand to gain significant mind and market share,” said Sunil Chavan, senior director for solution sales in Asia Pacific of HDS.
He said the company is rapidly evolving into more than just a storage firm, which, to date, has over 70 consumers. Last year Hitachi posted 6.6-percent in growth, 233 percent in converged platforms, 25.3 percent in MCS, and gained 623 new accounts. Its Philippine operations alone had a 44-percent contribution to HDS sales in 2014 due to four key radicals, such as banking, telecommunications, health care and government sectors. For this year, Hitachi will focus on six areas, including telecom analytics, IT operations, connected energy, connected cars, public safety and connected health.
The company expects a strong double-digit growth in the first half of fiscal year 2015 starting April and tenfold in the next four years.
