HOLDING firm A. Soriano Corp.’s (ANS) wholly owned unit has acquired more of its shares of stock for P47.89 million.
The company said in a regulatory filing on Thursday that Anscor Consolidated Corp. bought 7.3 million of shares at P6.5602 apiece.
These bring its equity ownership to 50.65 percent, or 1,266,300,646 total number of shares in ANS. For the current year to date ending June 30, 2015, the listed company reported a significant growth of 115.5 percent to P5.5 billion in consolidated gross revenues from P2.5 billion recorded in the same period last year.
This was partially offset by equity in net losses of associates amounting to P211 million.
Wholly owned and controlled by the family of Don Andres Soriano, ANS has an array of investments in companies involved in various activities both here and abroad.
Its major investments include cable and wire manufacturing through Phelps Dodge Philippines Energy Products Corp.; hospitality operations via Seven Seas Resorts and Leisure Inc.; allied healthcare professionals deployment through Cirrus Medical Staffing Inc.; and academic business via Enderun Colleges Inc.
The publicly listed company has investments in equities traded in the Philippine Stock Exchange, foreign currency denominated bonds and offshore hedge funds.
