Former Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua (right) is presented the Distinguished Service Award by Foreign Secretary Albert F. del Rosario for his “exceptional accomplishments and performance of duties and for advancing the interests of the country and of the Filipino people” as Philippine ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic from 2003 to 2004.
The award was conferred on the occasion of the DFA’s 114th anniversary, which coincided with the celebration of the 148th birth anniversary of Apolinario Mabini, the Philippines’s first Foreign Affairs secretary.
Ambassador Cabangon is now chairman of the first Philippine-Lao Business Council organized to explore increased business and trade exchanges between the two countries.
