THE Ateneo International Studies Students Organization, the official academic club of International Studies majors of the Ateneo de Davao University, is hosting the 14th Mindanao International Studies Society Convention (Misscon). The convention is scheduled from February 22 to 25 at the Marco Polo Hotel in Davao City. This Mindanao-wide annual convention aims to promote and strengthen International Studies as it brings together eight academic institutions offering the program.
Through a series of plenary and parallel sessions that highlight local and international issues, participative workshops, academic endeavors and other forms of fellowship, Misscon provides an avenue for International Studies students all over Mindanao to convene in the spirit of academic excellence and solidarity. This annual convention aims to encourage the participants to showcase their intellect, critical-thinking skills and other talents.
The theme of the event, “Rethinking Regions in International Relations: Mindanao,” aims to elevate Mindanao in the international scene by appreciating unity in diversity among its people, its rich and diverse economic, social, cultural and environmental resources.
