THE first-ever National Basketball Association (NBA) 3-on-3 Philippines presented by Sprite will be held from July 1 to 3 at the Music Hall of the SM Mall of Asia. The event will combine the exciting on-court competition with authentic NBA entertainment.

The event was presented to the media in a launch held a week ago at the National Sports Grill in Greenbelt, Makati.

The NBA 3-on-3 event will provide the local youth with an avenue to hone their skills. The competition is open to boys and girls aged 11 to 19, with an open division for men.

To add excitement to the event, NBA Legend Horace Grant, a four-time NBA Champion (1990-93 with the Chicago Bulls;  2001 with the Los Angeles Lakers), and the New York Knicks City Dancers will grace the proceedings.

Grant will be involved in clinics and community events during the three-day affair.

Other NBA-style events will include a Sprite Slam-Dunk contest and the Energen Skills Challenge where participants  can showcase their talent, aside from NBA merchandise giveaways and live music to keep the fans entertained. Entry is free of charge!

Basketball TV and NBA Premium TV are the official media partners, with support from Spalding.

NBA Cares, the league’s global social responsibility program, will also conduct a variety of community events in conjunction with the NBA 3-on-3 competition.
