THE Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) is looking for firms who can supply, at no cost to the agency, 3.3 million pieces of magnetic tickets to be used by passengers of their two rail lines.

The LRTA said the firm that wins the contract would have the right to advertise on the tickets for Line 1 (from Monumento to Baclaran) and Line 2 (from Santolan to Recto) for 12 months beginning June 2012.

In offering the contract for the magnetic tickets, the LRTA said interested firms or persons must submit a formal expression of interest to the chairman of the agency’s non-rail business enterprise committee at the LRTA Line 2 Depot in Santolan, Pasig City.

Last month, the LRTA announced that six firms expressed interest to participate in the bidding for the P150-million contract to rehabilitate 21 light rail vehicles.

The six firms are Miescorrail Inc., D.M. Consunji, Joratech Corp., Sumitomo Corp., Jorgman Planning & Development Corp. and Pilipinas Hino Inc.

Six other local and foreign firms had earlier joined the bidding for the P380-million replacement of the rail tracks for the railways lines managed by the LRTA. The six were DM Consunji, Joratech Corp., Sumitomo Corp., Daxi S.A., Jorgman Planning and Development Corp. and JD Legaspi Construction.
