GETTY Images, the world’s leading creator of multimedia products and imagery, has set up a Manila office to help the company grow its business in the country.
Rupert Harrow, Getty Images senior sales director, said the Philippines presents good opportunities for the company with the growth in the country’s Internet usage at approximately 30 percent or already about 30 million people this year. The company currently only serves less than 15 percent of the country’s Top 1,000 corporations.
He said rising demand for Getty Images still imagery, footage, multi-media products and other digital content is expected from advertising agencies, companies and media entities, which is why the company decided to tie up with its domestic partner GETCRE8IVE. The company used to serve the Philippine market from its regional base in Singapore.
“We wouldn’t be investing the time and money if we did not see the opportunities here,” Harrow told reporters on Tuesday.
He said the fact that only about 10 percent to 15 percent of the Top 1,000 in the country is currently making use of Getty Images’ products and services shows the huge growth prospects that the company is facing here.
“With the help of GETCRE8IVE, we are setting a modest but realistic business projection of double-digit growth year-on-year within the next three years,” he said.
Getty Images currently serves business customers in over 100 countries. Harrow refused to give specific figures on the company’s Philippine revenues but said it represents a significant percentage of its Southeast Asian revenues.
Harrow said using the readily available images and multimedia products of Getty Images will help companies significantly cut their costs, as well as save them time and efforts, compared to doing the shoot themselves.
