THE group of Manuel V. Pangilinan isn’t the only interested party that wants to acquire GMA Network Inc. There are other Filipino entities as well, according to the network’s Chairman Felipe Gozon.

“[GMA 7] is very attractive and desirable, not only to MVP [Manuel V. Pangilinan]. There were others that expressed interest,” Gozon told reporters at the sidelines of the stockholders’ meeting.

THE Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (Avid) continue to enjoy robust growth as total sales for the month of April registered a 12-percent increase compared to the same period last year.

This was attributed to the increase in sales of passenger cars (PC) segment.  PC sales alone recorded 55-percent growth, with 1,324 units sold versus the sale of 852 units in the same month last year.

SKY Cable Corp. and Destiny Cable Inc. have asked the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to approve the sale and transfer deal signed last week.

The cable firms asked the regulators to give the green light to the May 11 deed of sale and assignment and authorize the assignment, conveyance and transfer of Destiny Cable’s assets as well as its licenses and permits to SkyCable.
