GLOBAL company Cyberoam Technologies has launched its new security appliance catered to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines.
“CR10wiNG is designed for small and branch offices to offer secure Wi-Fi at par with wired security,” said Abhilash Sonwane, senior vice president for technology and products at Cyberoam.
Wireless networks in MSMEs, especially the SOHO (small office and home office) and ROBO (remote office and branch office) segments, are seen at risk from information theft because of their inability to determine users, especially the guests, within the system.
Lack of information-technology staff and limited budget also make it hard for them to avail themselves of security solutions that are adequate, affordable and easy to manage.
Those with distributed networks, especially in retail, logistics and transportation, as well as utility industries, demand mobility within the system and require secured network, remote access and Wi-Fi for walk-in clients.
Since MSMEs contribute a lot to the robust national economic growth as they comprise 99.6 percent of almost 945,000 registered businesses in the country to date, it is but right to secure their confidential data from potential cyberattacks
WIth this in mind, security experts from Cyberoam created the CR10wiNG as the “fastest and most affordable” UTM (unified threat management) solution that can shield businesses from possible data breach.
“It enables a leaner Wi-Fi security infrastructure to organizations by replacing both Wi-Fi router and firewall with a single appliance,” Sonwane said, adding that it also offers 3G/4G USB support for remote offices with limited connectivity options.
CR10wiNG supports 802.11 n/b/g standards and up to eight virtual access points, as well as delivers UTM security features over WLAN to provide enterprise-level security and meet the need of mobility in this category.
Also, it offers high performance with firewall throughput of 400Mbps and UTM throughput of 60Mbps.
Based on Cyberoam’s patented Layer 8 technology, it enables administrators to apply User identity-based security policies to gain visibility over user activity and also manage Guest Internet access in the network.
This new offering backs up multiple virtual access points that create independent, segregated networks in the same physical area for separate teams like sales, marketing, guest users and more.
It secures authentication and stops rogue customers from connecting to networks where they don’t belong.
Built on the same CyberoamOS, it powers other top-of-the-line New-Generation (NG) series UTM appliances.
CR10wiNG is centrally manageable via Cyberoam Central Console and Cyberoam’s on-Cloud Management Service and is compatible with iView—Cyberoam’s Open Source logging and reporting solution.
Cyberoam Technologies—a Sophos Company—offers future-ready security solutions to physical and virtual networks in organizations with its NG Firewalls and UTM appliances. NetPlay Inc. exclusively distributes its products in the Philippines.
