NETSUITE opened up new employment opportunities by doubling its work force in Manila, NetSuite chief executive officer Zach Nelson said. He also announced that the company will offer cloud computing business management software over the iPhone to Filipino users.

The NetSuite complement of 300 workers has been doubled, as have its offices  at the RCBC Tower in the commercial and business district of Makati City. “Manila is approaching our largest office in San Mateo, California in size,” he said, citing the high-quality of workers that is plentiful in the Philippines. “We began operations in Manila in January 2007 with accounting support services provided by Filipino CPAs [certified public accountants]. We are now enabling Manila 2.0 with a dedicated and highly skilled work force.”

NetSuite Version 2009.2 software, according to NetSuite Philippines general manager and vice president for worldwide support James Dantow, “has been localized to meet the requirements of the Bureau of Internal Revenue [BIR] with key tax compliance, reporting and data export requirements. The agency has endorsed the localized offering by awarding certification for NetSuite to use the product itself for its local operations in Manila.”

Manila now serves as a key center for NetSuite’s global technical support, services and back-office operations expansion to include product development and quality assurance capabilities, Nelson said. “The growing office, which now employs nearly 300, has helped NetSuite establish itself among some of the Philippines’ leading household-name customers such as Jollibee, ABS-CBN, Diamond Fleet Management System and MOTECH Automotive Education Center Inc.,” he said.

As for cutting-edge mobile services offerings, NetSuite is now offering businesses and business managers true mobility by powering cloud computing capabilities on the iPhone and iPod Touch. This is the world’s first cloud computing mobile enterprise resource planning suite for Apple’s communications handsets.

NetSuite for the iPhone and iPod Touch are now available for free from the iTunes App Store (www.itunes.com/appstore). Since its launch on September 24, Nelson said, “NetSuite has had thousands of downloads on the App Store.
