United States government is now looking to legalize online gambling so that they can collect taxes on winnings and improve the current economy. If you guys are not aware let me tell you that according to Pirce Water House Coopers, US biggest chartered accountant stated that US economy can gain a whooping $55 billion in taxes from internet gambling, its just an estimation, the taxes may go up as well.

In the year 2006, during the Bush administration, UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) rules were passed along with port security bill, which was suppose to be the most important bill to get passed. Currnet law does not permits playing or betting online on poker and casino's where as fantasy games and horse betting are still legal.

EU commission and other nations have raised their concerns on online gaming sector and asked US to permit foreign gambling sites to operate in their country.

Speaking on behalf of safe & secure internet gambling , Jefferson stated that despite UIGEA rules in US, online gambling has picked up pace, such contiued growth should be noticed by the govt and use it for benefit of the economy.

On other side congressman, Barney Frank is trying dead hard to overturn the current UIGEA rules and pass a safe and secure internet gambling bill, Barney is all set to introduce the bill this March and is very confident that they would make it this time around.

Only time will tell what internet gambling brings in to US economy and their people.
