THE country’s market leader in retail and corporate courier and money remittance, and logistics, LBC Express recently announced it is planning to develop a strong presence in the mobile platform market.
“We are developing a mobile platform not only for remittance but also to enable their use of a mobile wallet for digital transactions,” said Oliver Valentin, LBC Express senior vice president for Philippine branch operations, in the company’s press briefing held in the Mall of Asia complex.
He added Xpress Money is a potential partner for the digital wallet project citing its wide network around the globe: it currently has one of the strongest networks with over 160,000 locations across 160 countries.
Mike Camahort, president and chief operating officer of LBC Express, told the media the potential partnership with Xpress Money is a great opportunity for overseas Filipino workers that will ease the process of remittance to their relatives in the Philippines. Moreover, he said this is also a great chance for LBC Express to pursue cross-border transactions in the future. “With our own partner and our own network, we can have offer cheaper products through the online platform,” Camahort said.
He added LBC Express started on the right track in 2019 when it formed a new partnership with Xpress Money, one of the most dependable money transfer companies in the world. Camahort noted the tie-up will broaden LBC’s global reach and allow global Filipinos, especially OFWs from the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, to send remittances through Xpress Money, and for their beneficiaries to claim these remittances at any LBC branch.
The partnership has enabled Xpress Money to become one of the largest money transfer companies in the Philippines with over 16,500 locations spread across the country. OFWs can enjoy Xpress Money’s instant money transfer services with great exchange rates and low fees. Additionally, Xpress Money does not charge any backend fees to beneficiaries while the money is received in the Philippines.
