CEBU CITY—More than a hundred companies are participating in the Beauty, Health and Wellness Show (BHW) 2008, a project of three business groups here which is targeting the young and urban markets in Cebu.

The Cebu City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, PhilExport and the Spa and Wellness Association of Cebu are sponsoring the BHW 2008, which opens today at The Walk at the Asiatown IT Park, the contact center and outsourcing hub in this province.

Show organizers said participating companies today include Mary Kay, which will provide free makeup demo, facial and hand spa; O2 Spa, free massage and facial demo;  Perfect 10, free beauty products and facial care; and Fitness First, fat evaluation and consultation services.

“We are selling a lifestyle more than the products of the companies,” Sabine Schacknat, BHW 2008 marketing consultant, said during the show’s launch.

On October 24, BHW 2008 will hold the show at Ayala Center Cebu fronting Marks & Spencer from 2 to 6 p.m.

The three business groups said this year’s edition of the show is aimed at strengthening Cebu’s position as a spa and wellness destination for domestic and foreign tourists in the Philippines.
